My Trusted 5

People often use the word ‘trust’ or talk about people they trust, but what does trust actually mean?

  • When you trust someone, you can rely on them to listen to you, support you and give you help and guidance.
  • Someone you trust is someone you feel safe with, someone you feel happy to be yourself around and someone who treats you, your feelings and your body with kindness and respect.

Think about the adults in your life. Can you think of 5 adults that you trust and count them on your fingers?

If you have any worries and need some help, below are some places you can get advice and support:

  • The Children's Society The Children’s Society have lots of information on their site, so no matter your worry, you can find someone to help you.
  • NSPCC The NSPCC has a range of pages on different types of crime, what they look like, and who to talk to.
  • Childline Childline have a dedicated helpline where you can speak to someone about your worries, no matter how big or how small: call 0808 1111 or visit their website.
  • Fearless Website Fearless allows you to pass on information about crime 100% anonymously, as well as having lots of helpful information on what to do in various situations.
  • Metropolitan Police The Metropolitan Police have a page where you can report a crime or find out more about how to tell them (or your local police) about a crime.
  • CEOP If you are worried about something that has happened online.
