  • The School Day

The school day starts at 8.45am. Children should not be on the premises before 8.35am, when staff supervision is in place. The Dorrells Road gates will be locked at 8.50am for security purposes.

The school day ends at 3.20pm for EYFS & KS1 and at 3.30pm for KS2.

The teaching time for pupils varies with the age of the child, so the school day is divided differently for Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) as follows:

                                     Morning Session         Lunch                        Afternoon Session

KS2 (7-11)                    8.45am – 12.15pm       12.15pm – 1.15pm     1.15pm – 3.30pm

All children have a 15 minute break in the morning (10.30am - 10.45am).

Children in KS1 have an additional 15 minute break in the afternoon (2.10pm – 2.25pm).

The minimum weekly teaching time (excluding break times, registration and collective worship) is 23 hours 30 minutes for KS1 and 24 hours 45 minutes for KS2.
