There are two normal points of admission into Longwick School, as well as in-year transfers  which are subject to places being available in your required year group.

The first normal point of admission is into Reception Class; children normally enter the Reception Class in September of the school year in which they turn five. Our admission number for children into Reception Class is currently 30.

The second normal point of admission is into Year 3.  Children typically enter Longwick into Year 3 in September of the school year in which they turn eight. Longwick’s admission number is increased by 2 for entry into Key Stage 2 and the class sizes are set at 32.  As a Voluntary Controlled School, all admissions are regulated by the Coordinated Admission Scheme for Primary Schools in Buckinghamshire.

An application for your child to join our school can be made at any time during the school year.  Please contact the school office where we will be able to advise on how to navigate the process. These applications will be processed through the “County In-Year Admissions Scheme”. Applications for admission at any time may be made by parents/carers on-line via the link below.

The Admissions Criteria as set down in the County Booklet is adhered to in the case of reviews.  Headteacher and representatives from the Local Authority meet to discuss cases which do go to review. This would normally happen when numbers over 30 in KS1 occur.
